Nakamuraya’s Croquettes are a must-try when you come to Osaka!

This delicacy is made by mashing boiled potatoes or other ingredients like minced meat, vegetables,, which is then mixed with flavorful seasonings. The mixture is then shaped into a flat, oval patty, breaded with flour, egg, and Japanese-style breadcrumbs (known as Panko), and deep-fried until it reaches a golden brown color.

The resulting Korokke is delightfully crispy on the outside while maintaining a soft and savory filling on the inside. It’s often served with a side of tonkatsu sauce, a type of thick Japanese barbecue sauce, or a simple dash of Worcestershire sauce, which adds a tangy, sweet, and slightly spicy flavor that complements the Korokke perfectly.

Whether it’s a main dish at home, a quick snack on the go, or a part of a bento box, Korokke is a versatile food that you can enjoy in many different ways. So, if you’re looking to try something new from Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend giving Korokke a try!

They start at 90 yen each and are a favorite of both children and adults in Osaka.

The sweet, flaky potato flavor and crispy batter make it a perfect snack!

Be careful because there is always a line no matter where you go!

Nakamuraya is located at 2-chome in the Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Arcade. The nearest stations are “Minamimorimachi” station on the Sakaisuji and Tanimachi subway lines or “Osaka Tenmangu” station on the JR Tozai line. The stations are connected to each other, so you can go up to the ground level from “4-B” or “Exit 3”.
